By the end of the last century, and after leaving the commercial photography world of annual reports, studio work, and slide shows in support of conventions, I had photographed more than 20 garden books. These assignments with Ortho, Sunset, Chronicle Books, and NK Lawn and Garden led to co-authoring my own books with Storey, Workman, and Timber Press, while making distinctive private books for special clients; portfolio assignments for garden designers and landscape architects; and commercial work for international flower breeders such as Sakata and Syngenta.
